The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh

Founded in 1993, the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh is housed in a Victorian-era mansion designated by the city as a historic landmark. The mission of the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh is to educate children using the Waldorf curriculum and methods of teaching, balancing the academic, emotional, and spiritual needs of children while engaging families to create learning partnerships.


The Montessori School of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Montessori School is a public Montessori Magnet school that serves children 36 months of age through early adolescence. The school campus includes a terrific play park, a fenced and paved play area, beautiful shade trees, a peace garden and an edible garden! The school is housed in a historic and majestic 110 year old building at the corner of Friendship and South Graham.


Arsenal Family and Children’s Center was founded in Pittsburgh in1953 by pediatrician Dr. Benjamin Spock. For over 50 years Arsenal Family Center has offered programs and services that provide the building blocks necessary to create a strong foundation for the healthy development of children and the formation of nurturing and healthy parent-child relationships. The Center offers an array of programs and services for young children age birth to ten and their families, and it continues as a training site for colleges and universities in the Pittsburgh community.


St. Maria Goretti School is a Catholic school sponsored by Saint Maria Goretti Parish in the Bloomfield Neighborhood only blocks away from Friendship. The School Campus consists of a parish convent which houses the Sisters of the Holy Spirit, a parish school, and the new St. Maria Goretti School with programs for Pre-K through 8th grade.


The Watson InstituteFriendship Academy has been a member of Watson's family of schools since October 26, 2001. As both an approved private school (APS) and a school-based partial hospital program (PHP), Friendship Academy serves 155 students from first to twelfth grades, and specializes in meeting students’ educational and mental health needs.


Earthen Vessels Outreach is a faith-based organization that seeks to connect and transform its neighborhoods, community and people spiritually, socially, and economically. EVO offers summer camps, after school programs and programs and events for families.
